Company to Showcase Gesture Control on Nvidia Tegra Platforms

BRUSSELS, BELGIUM – March 25, 2013 – SoftKinetic, the world’s leading provider of 3D vision and gesture recognition solutions, today announced its presence at the upcoming 2013 Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco from March 27 – 29.

At GDC, SoftKinetic will demonstrate the capabilities of the DS320, the highest definition 3D camera available offering both close and long range capabilities (from 6” to over 10’) together with iisu 3.6 gesture recognition middleware, offering both finger and full body skeleton tracking on Windows, Linux and Android. The DS320 combines a high resolution depth sensor and HD RGB sensor, with a wide field of view for a more comfortable and convenient user experience at distances closer to the screen. SoftKinetic will also showcase new games and applications running on the ARM Cortex-A15 based platform, including Nvidia’s Tegra 3 and Tegra 4 platforms. Demonstrations will be given at the SoftKinetic private suite at the W Hotel and at booth #1334 on the GDC show floor, part of the Belgian Trade Commission pavilion.

Additionally, SoftKinetic’s natural gesture solutions will be on display by key partners Intel and ARM. As part of the Perceptual Computing initiative, Intel will be premiering a selection of new games using SoftKinetic’s hand and finger tracking middleware at booth #1016. At the ARM booth (#1124) SoftKinetic will be showcasing Supersonic Stuntman, their new full-body tracking game running on the Samsung Arndale platform powered by ARM Cortex-A15 CPU and Mali T604.

“GDC represents a terrific opportunity to meet and collaborate with a broad range of the gaming industry,” said Michel Tombroff, CEO of SoftKinetic. “We are looking forward to returning to the conference and sharing the exciting new developments in 3D gesture recognition and control that we have been working on since last year’s show.”
