Predictive Analytics Startup Adds Big Data Industry Experts to Its Executive Team

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Jan. 23, 2014 –  Today Skytree®, the Machine Learning Company®, announces the addition of industry veterans Burke Kaltenberger as vice president of worldwide sales and Jin H. Kim as vice president of marketing. Kaltenberger will support Skytree’s mission of making high-performance machine learning technology available to the masses, while Kim brings his experience in enterprise software product development to direct the company’s external outreach.

“Joining this team is an opportunity for me to contribute to Skytree’s growth as a unique and dominant player in the Big Data marketplace,” said Kaltenberger. “Skytree’s technology provides organizations with the ability to discover complex data insights and make predictions from existing patterns, with one of the best tech teams in the business.”

Kaltenberger has been a leader in software company sales for more than 15 years. Previously, he served as the vice president of sales at Infochimps, a CSC company for Big Data application management, and as the vice president of Western region sales for MapR. Prior to this role he led direct sales for the West at ParAccel and both direct and channel sales for the Americas at Syncsort. Kaltenberger also spent 10 years as an officer and aviator in the U.S. Navy before joining the private sector.

“With Skytree’s product, organizations can substantially enhance the accuracy of their predictive insights and reduce the time it takes to analyze the vast amounts of data they are already collecting,” noted Kim. “Bringing this technology to new audiences, Skytree will empower CIOs, CDOs, CROs, and CMOs to predict market and customer behavior, uncover fraudulent activities, and better manage risk to raise the value of their data assets.”

Kim comes to Skytree from Tom Sawyer Software, the leading provider of software for advanced visual analysis in data discovery and social network analysis, where he was the vice president of product marketing. He also previously served in marketing and product leadership roles for Vitria Technology and Mentor Graphics. Kim began his career in the computer science faculty at Carnegie Mellon University before co-founding several successful software startups in data and business process management, artificial intelligence, and computer-aided engineering.

“An increasing number of Fortune 500 companies are using Skytree’s high-performance machine learning solutions,” said Martin Hack, co-founder and CEO of Skytree. “We’re excited to have Burke and Jin aboard, and leveraging their experience will be vital to our next stage of growth.”
