Dimensional Double Shift players logged in for 2.5 million hours, played 6.1 million shifts, and completed more than 20 million tasks since release

AUSTIN, TEXAS – January 22, 2026 – Owlchemy Labs today announced two significant milestones: Job Simulator has surpassed 6 million installs, and their latest title, Dimensional Double Shift, has crossed 1 million downloads just over a year after its open beta launch. Together, the milestones reflect a decade of Owlchemy’s commitment to pushing VR forward, and a growing audience embracing the platform’s evolution.

Celebrating its 10-year anniversary in 2026, Job Simulator defined VR gaming with its natural-feeling interactivity and Owlchemy’s signature quirky humor. Originally debuting on the HTC Vive, Job Simulator was one of the first viral VR hits and introduced a whole generation of players to the platform. After surpassing 1 million units sold in 2020, the game has maintained a consistent presence on VR charts. Ten years later, the game’s continued success is proof that Owlchemy’s design principles are built on solid foundations.

Dimensional Double Shift underscores Owlchemy Labs’ momentum beyond legacy hits, with its co-op universe that has proved players are hungry to experience VR with friends. The game recently became Owlchemy Labs’ fastest-growing title, with players logging 2.5 million total hours in Dimensional Double Shift since its open beta launch. Achieving these milestones in just over a year since Dimensional Double Shift’s open beta launch reinforces the studio’s continued focus on accessible, interactive, and playful social experiences.

Dimensional Double Shift’s Milestone by the Numbers:

  • 85.61% of players slapped ALICE. That’s 648,715 people who chose violence and called it “team bonding.”
  • 6.1 million shifts played, averaging 23 minutes each. “Just one more shift” is how you (happily) lose track of time.
  • 16.7 million orders completed and 4.5 million cars served. Service with a smile, and only minor property damage.
  • 3.8 million bonus orders taken at the end of a shift. Clocking out was an option, and you all ignored it.
  • Over one third of players made their in-game character puke from… questionable life choices, totaling 3,069,558 vomits.

“Back when VR first started gaining momentum in the 2010s, Job Simulator was among the first games to take off,”said Andrew Eiche, CEOwl at Owlchemy Labs. “Ten years later, it’s still showing up near the top of monthly play charts, and we’ve seen that same staying power with Vacation Simulator surpassing one million copies sold. Through that work, we learned players want worlds that feel great to interact with, are easy to jump into, and are fun to share, which led us directly to Dimensional Double Shift. Seeing Job Simulator and Dimensional Double Shift hit these milestones together shows we’re still delivering on that desire.”

Players can clock in to Dimensional Double Shift on Meta Quest for free, and when your crew’s ready for the next assignment, grab the Hexas and New Joysey Dimension Packs for $4.99 each. Only one person needs to own a pack for the whole team to punch in together.
