Following two wildly successful playtests at Steam Next Fest and in Korea, Theorycraft Games pushes into Open Beta for their highly-anticipated MOBA BR meets hero shooter
LOS ANGELES – November 4, 2024 – After taking one of the top spots at Steam Next Fest and welcoming hundreds of thousands of new players from around the world into playtesting, Theorycraft Games today announced that SUPERVIVE, their free-to-play MOBA BR meets hero shooter, is accelerating into Open Beta on November 20, 2024 with servers in North America, Europe, Asia, and Korea (through NEXON). Anyone in these regions can hop into SUPERVIVE during Open Beta where player feedback will guide development heading into the game’s eventual 1.0 release.
“We’re floored by the groundswell of passion and support SUPERVIVE received during Steam Next Fest. After seeing all the new players coming in, how many games they were playing, and the waves of requests we got to leave the servers on… We knew we had to get our Open Beta out there,” says Joe Tung, CEO and co-founder of Theorycraft Games. “Open Beta is a huge milestone for us, but in so many ways it’s just the beginning. From Day 1 we’ve been building SUPERVIVE out in the open with players and we’ll continue to do so—improving the game with every patch—for as long as we have players who want to spend their time with us.”
SUPERVIVE is also proving to be a global success, with Theorycraft partnering with NEXON to host a Korean closed beta immediately following Steam Next Fest, opening the doors for the game on a global scale.

The Next 10,000 Hour Game, with the Numbers to Prove It
Over the course of Steam Next Fest, hundreds of thousands of new players played SUPERVIVE for the first time and loved it. Check out the numbers:
- New players averaged at least 20 games of SUPERVIVE.
- Within the week of the Steam Next Fest (SNF) playtest alone, players were in SUPERVIVE for more than 67 million minutes (equivalent to 127 years).
- Within matches of SUPERVIVE’s SNF playtest, 13 million hunters were killed and 3.5 million vaults were attempted… only for 70% of them to fail.
- Some of SUPERVIVE’s most hardcore players also sank tons of time into the game, with VITEK putting in 93 hours and Tharkum playing a whopping 471 games in just one week.
What’s Next
Theorycraft will be developing SUPERVIVE in the open with players, using the entire game world as a canvas to thread an evolving experience. In December, they’re already planning a transdimensional winter-themed event to sweep the land, filled with new map evolutions, powers, cosmetics, equipment, storm shifts, and hints at further development to come.
Don’t forget to wishlist SUPERVIVE on Steam here to be part of the first group that jumps into the Open Beta. Players eager to show their support for Theorycraft and SUPERVIVE’s development can purchase Supporter Packs, granting premium currency, exclusive cosmetics, and more perks.
