SoftKinetic Executives to Speak at NVIDIA GPU Technology Conference
BRUSSELS, BELGIUM – March 18, 2013 – SoftKinetic, the world’s leading provider of 3D vision and gesture recognition solutions, today announced that its DepthSense® 3D camera and iisu® gesture recognition middleware are now compatible with NVIDIA® Tegra® mobile processors and Android, giving developers a formidable opportunity to develop and deploy the most innovative 3D gesture-based applications.
SoftKinetic is working with NVIDIA to bring full body tracking capabilities to interactive digital entertainment with devices such as NVIDIA’s Project SHIELD, automotive infotainment and navigation systems, and augmented reality applications powered by the Tegra platform.
“SoftKinetic is delighted to collaborate with NVIDIA in order to bring our industry-leading gesture recognition technology to the Tegra platform,” said Michel Tombroff, CEO of SoftKinetic. “The capabilities of Tegra, in particular in terms of high-performance computer vision and image processing, allow us to achieve excellent performance for the demanding applications such as video games, and we look forward to extending this to other markets as well.”
Representatives from SoftKinetic will take to the stage next week at NVIDIA’s GPU Technology Conference (GTC) to discuss the possibilities afforded by high-performance full body gesture recognition on Tegra. SoftKinetic CEO Michel Tombroff will take part in the CEO On Stage portion of the show, discussing multiplatform gesture recognition at 4:00 pm PT on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, in the Marriot San Jose’s Ballroom 4. Also on Wednesday, SoftKinetic VP of US Operations, Tim Droz, will give a technical presentation on “Gesture Processing Using 3D Depth Data on Mobile Platforms,” at 10:00 am PT in Ballroom 3.
“Tegra processors are changing what developers can do on mobile and connected devices,” said Neil Trevett, Vice President of Mobile Content at NVIDIA. “Similarly, SoftKinetic’s technology allows developers to craft incredible new gesture-controlled experiences on Tegra-powered devices.”
SoftKinetic designs, develops and commercializes 3D time-of-flight sensors technologies, cameras, as well as a complete family of 3D gesture recognition middleware for both long-range and short range applications. With a highly optimized CPU footprint, SoftKinetic’s solutions are perfect for embedded platforms, as well as personal computers, consoles, set-top boxes, and smart TVs.
