Blurtt Update Introduces Private Blurtting

Also Adds Ability to Insert Images Directly into Text Messages

NEW YORK & DALLAS – May 23, 2012 – Blurtt, the popular iOS app that allows people to create and share messages that integrate images with captions, has today released an updated version of the app which adds the option to post to the Blurtt community or keep your blurtt private. Users can also now compose blurtts and send them to friends and family individually by inserting them into text messages, allowing them to create image-enhanced private messages, creative greeting cards, and more. The update, like the app itself, is free on the iTunes App Store.

With private blurtting we want to allow our users the discretion to send deeply personal and emotional messages without sharing them to the rest of the Blurtt community,” said Jeanette Cajide, co-founder of Blurtt. “We have learned a lot from our users since our launch and we want to help people personalize their communications whether it be private messaging or social media with images.”

Going beyond personalized messages, the company is also allowing people to create anonymous messages similar to the no longer available yet very popular app PostSecret. Cajide continued: “The feature has plenty of uses beyond the obvious ones: Suppose you are having a bad day at work and your boss is getting on your nerves. All social media today requires you post with a username which is easily traceable, but by being anonymous you can get your frustration off your chest in a safe community within Blurtt.”

The ability to blurtt privately is complimented by new functionality that lets users insert blurtts themselves into text messages, as opposed to linking to blurtts in these messages. In this way, Blurtt users can create their own greeting cards to be sent digitally to friends, families, and more.

Blurtt is a simple and unique messaging app that allows users to create meaningful and memorable messages in less than one minute. Users are able to search the web for an image or use their own, add text, crop and edit, and share with friends through text, email, Twitter and Facebook.
