Game Achieves #3 Top New Free Apps Rank on Google Play, Continuing Focus on Character- and Story-driven Gameplay
SAN FRANCISCO –11/12/2013 – Mobile entertainment company Kiwi, Inc. has announced that their latest release, Westbound, has reached the #3 Top New Free Apps rank on the Google Play charts, achieving over 100,000 player downloads a day within its first two weeks after launch. Westbound is Kiwi’s seventh game in the top ranks of the Google Play charts and the next iteration of its story-based adventure titles, which feature engaging characters and rich worlds.
“We strive to build immersive mobile games that delight players with entertaining characters and worlds for their exploration,” said Omar Siddiqui, CEO of Kiwi. “With weekly updates that give users fresh challenges, plot twists, and novel mechanics, our questing games are more like on-going television dramas than packaged entertainment. In Westbound, we wanted to transport players to a quirky frontier town with colorful characters carving out a settlement with drama, humor, and pluck. The engagement we’re seeing for the game is very encouraging, and we’re looking forward to building out this universe with our players.”
Since Kiwi’s founding in 2011, the company has had considerable success in the Android marketplace with four games in the Top 50 Grossing, including blockbuster hit Shipwrecked: Lost Island, a Top 10 Grossing title. The company’s other chart-topping games for Android include Enemy Lines, Brightwood Adventures, Monsterama Planet, and Hidden Object: Mystery Estate.
In Westbound, players take the role of a settler in the Wild West whose wagon has broken down on the frontier. Players must meet new characters and explore the secrets of the wilderness while managing the needs of their bustling boomtown.
