M-commerce Warehouse Club Launches Service Coast to Coast

NEW YORK – Nov. 14, 2013 –  Wholesale club app Boxed, launched this fall on the East Coast, is today expanding its services nationwide. Available on iOS and Android, Boxed enables users to buy and schedule delivery of warehouse club items through a streamlined mobile app, without the hassle of long lines or membership fees.

Boxed provides customers with the affordable household items they need, facilitated by the convenience of mobile commerce. With over 500 products in its warehouses, Boxed offers shoppers a wide array of necessities in bulk, with free, expedited delivery. The app, available for smartphones and tablets, is the creation of former executives and engineers from Zynga, Adap.TV and Flurry.

“We’re focused on bringing warehouse club savings directly to the doorsteps of as many people as possible,” said Boxed founder and CEO Chieh Huang. “Not everyone has the means or the time to trek to a physical wholesale store, and it’s our goal to fill the need for everyday essentials at wholesale prices on a national scale. ”

Boxed announced a seed round of $1.1M from Social Starts, ENIAC Ventures and Bessemer Venture Partners in August. The company’s board of advisors is led by former Zynga COO David Ko.
