SAN FRANCISCO — Mar. 26, 2014 — DoubleDutch, the leading provider of mobile event applications, today announced two additions to its executive team: Tim Christensen joins as vice president of engineering and Ken Kamada as vice president of finance. With a focus on data capture and social engagement at events, DoubleDutch’s mobile-first product is breaking new ground in location-based and contextual content delivery. The company has made scale a priority, more than doubling its staff from 40 to 90 employees in 2013. Christensen and Kamada have extensive experience growing startups, and will help structure DoubleDutch for continued success as the company expands its products, team and international reach.

“Lawrence Coburn’s vision of using contextual mobile data to serve attendees and organizers at events won me over, and the company’s sweet view of the San Francisco Mission didn’t hurt either,” said vice president of engineering at DoubleDutch, Tim Christensen. “The demand for our social, mobile event apps is huge, and scaling both our back-end technology and engineering team means even better products for more events around the world.”

In his new role, Christensen will draw on his experience working at industry leaders like Apple and Yesmail, as well as data analytics startups like SmartTAB. In his prior positions, Christensen successfully led large engineering teams with multi-million dollar budgets and will use that knowledge to develop the growing team at DoubleDutch. He will focus on building out the underlying technology platform to handle the massive scaling needs that come with powering the DoubleDutch growth engine.

Additionally, Kamada will direct finance and corporate governance, bringing 14 years of experience in financial services and technology to DoubleDutch. Kamada has served in a number of roles in investment banking, research analysis and institutional sales. After beginning his career at Morgan Stanley, he founded wealth management firm Kamada Investment Management, served as CFO of home service hiring platform Zaarly, and led IT systems integrations at Redapt.

“2013 was a huge year for DoubleDutch – we raised a new round of funding to accelerate our hockey-stick growth,” said Ken Kamada, vice president of finance at DoubleDutch. “Operating in new markets and scaling the business is our focus as an organization. This means creating a foundation across our entire company that can be stress-tested for years to come.”
