Mining Puzzle Game Takes Players Deep Within the Earth to Free Their Dwarven Pals
BOULDER, CO – May 1, 2014 – Backflip Studios today announced the mining puzzle game Dwarven Den is now available free on the iTunes App Store. In Dwarven Den, you play a group of dwarves seeking adventure and sparkly treasures buried deep within the earth. Your dwarven ancestors have been trapped in vast underground mines. Armed with only a pickaxe and a mighty beard, you’ve got to dig down deep by excavating floor after floor. Simply tap to dig through ancient civilizations, choosing your next move cautiously to avoid cave-ins and cartoon monsters. With challenging puzzles and simple controls, the app has already been deemed “What’s Hot” in its Canadian beta phase. Free with optional in-app purchases, players can download Dwarven Den today!
With colorful visuals and a chipper soundtrack, the game is perfect for miners of all ages. The challenge ramps up deeper within the mine, when traps and hungry beasts lurk around every corner. With multiple objectives in every level and randomly generated loot-drops, the game’s replayability truly shines. Spelunking can be challenging, but never fear: an ample supply of bombs make obstacles go kablooey! Tenacious explorers will unearth treasures of all types; collecting valuable gold lets players forge better tools and gear like axes, headlamps and picks.
Dwarves love to band together, and the game’s guild system lets players lend one another a hand (and an axe) for daily quests. Completing these with friends yields valuable prizes, including special equipment that can’t be forged or bought anywhere else.
Dwarven Den features:
- Mine ancient underground ruins with simple tap-to-mine controls.
- Solve increasingly tricky puzzles by mining through everything from limestone to solid diamond.
- Explore deep within the Earth with over 80 levels at launch and a new level added every day.
- Watch out for cave-ins and monsters like mummies, spiders, bats and armadillos.
- Collect gold and combine items to forge better tools like picks, helmets and backpacks.
- When all else fails… blast your way out of trouble with a deftly-placed bomb!
- Mining is better with friends thanks to guilds, Facebook and Game Center integration.
