PITTSBURGH, PA — August 24, 2021 — I Expect You To Die 2: The Spy and the Liar, the sequel to Schell Games’ award-winning VR hit, is available now on PlayStation™Store for PlayStation®VR (PS VR), Steam, Oculus Quest, and Oculus Rift for a suggested retail price of $24.99. Schell Games is showcasing I Expect You To Die 2 at Gamescom 2021 as part of the conference’s virtual Arcade Station and at PAX West 2021, where they will demo the game to fans in-person at Booth 307 from September 3 to 6.

I Expect You To Die 2: The Spy and the Liar is the sequel to one of VR’s first hits I Expect You To Die. Expanding on the franchise’s signature 1960s-era spy-fi setting, players return to a life of espionage in an interactive world filled with a colorful cast of characters. TV and film star Wil Wheaton stars as John Juniper, celebrity extraordinaire, and joins players on their quest to save the world from the evil megacorp Zoraxis. The game’s opening theme is performed by America’s Got Talent alum Puddles Pity Party. A digital album will be available for free on all major streaming platforms and Steam starting August 31, 2021.

“We think this sequel transforms I Expect You To Die from a viral VR hit into a pillar VR franchise,” said Jesse Schell, CEO of Schell Games. “We tried to keep everything players loved about the first game, added a comprehensive narrative arc, and expanded the world building to really immerse players in the game. Our whole team, including Puddles Pity Party and Wil Wheaton, put their hearts into creating an engaging game worthy of being a sequel to one of VR’s original breakout hits. We also worked tirelessly to make sure the gameplay is accessible to players of all walks of life.”

In I Expect You To Die 2, players take the role of a secret agent who must solve deadly puzzles using high-tech gadgets and creative thinking. They will embark on a journey through six unique missions full of unexpected obstacles, ingenious puzzles, cunning villains, and dangerous locales. Those unfamiliar with the first game will have no problem enjoying I Expect You To Die 2 as a standalone experience.

Both I Expect You To Die games offer a comfortable, seated VR experience from start to finish, requiring little movement and minimizing motion sickness. Created with accessibility as a core development principle, more people can enjoy the full I Expect You To Die 2 experience without sacrificing gameplay.
