The explosive new season will introduce the first new playable Explorer, a new boss, and more

Kirkland, USA – September 10, 2021 – Midwinter Entertainment today announced Winter’s Fury, the new season for its strategic PvEvP survival shooter, Scavengers. Players braving the frigid wasteland will soon be able to jump into the action with a brand new Explorer, challenge a fierce new boss, experiment with more weapons, and earn special rewards when Winter’s Fury kicks off on September 15, 2021.

In Winter’s Fury, players will be able to take command of a powerful new survivor of the frozen apocalypse: Rin – the first playable Explorer added to Scavengers following the game’s launch into Early Access for PC. With an uncanny aptitude for chemistry (particularly chemicals that explode), Rin traps her enemies in a suffocating fog of dazzling magenta smoke, disorientating and debilitating her targets just long enough to pick them off. Rin is voiced by actress and singer Jennifer Sun Bell, known for her roles on NCIS, American Pie, and more.

The Winter’s Fury Battle Pass will be available for purchase on September 15, alongside Rin. With the Battle Pass, players can unlock additional specialty items as they play matches. More information about Winter’s Fury and the Battle Pass can be found in the blog post here.

Scavengers is currently in development for PC. It is available in Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store

Scavengers: Winter’s Fury season will include a number of new features, such as:

  • New Explorer: A disruptive force of nature across the frost-bitten battleground, Rin’s Smoke Screen creates a dizzying magenta cloud, obscuring enemy vision and depleting their stamina, allowing her to get the jump on rivals using her deadly SHIN-48 rifle.
  • First Major Battle Pass: An all new Battle Pass for Scavengers. The Winter’s Fury season boasts 90 curated items for Explorers to unlock across the season.
  • Gameplay Updates: Intrepid Explorers can get to grips with a slew of new gameplay features introduced across the season. These include the Bait Bomb: a ranged projectile that summons Scourge to attack nearby players; and the R.A.S.P. Rockets: an evac device that Explorers can summon to get off-planet mid-match with their Datapoints intact.
  • New Boss Encounter: Dual-shields, heavy-armour, and a surly disposition, Bulwark offers an almighty challenge for Explorers looking to take on the ferocious Outlander.
