Announces sustained growth, global partnerships and corporate milestones at China Joy
BEIJING – July 26, 2013 – Leading international mobile publisher and developer CocoaChina/Chukong today announced at China Joy that the company has shot past $12 million in monthly revenue this year. CocoaChina/Chukong is a premier sponsor and exhibitor at China Joy 2013, announcing new publishing partnerships and milestones for its Cocos2D-x game engine and capitalizing on this year’s focus on mobile gaming.
“Reaching $12 million in monthly revenue solidifies our spot as the top mobile game publisher and developer in China,” said Haozhi Chen, CEO, CocoaChina/Chukong. “With high performing games like Fishing Joy 2, I’m MT, Chaos Fighters and Contra: Evolution, and a burgeoning international publishing business, we expect our yearly revenue to reach $150 million in 2013.”
International revenue currently accounts for 5 percent of CocoaChina/Chukong’s total revenue, and the company expects this percentage to increase significantly based on its publishing of five games in Taiwan, three games in Korea, and two games in the US and Western markets this quarter.
Providing expertise in localization, monetization, game design and billing relationships, CocoaChina/Chukong also announced new partnerships at China Joy, most notably with Gameloft. The deals will see CocoaChina publish upcoming games Asphalt 8: Airborne, Zombiewood and Dungeon Hunter 4 for the Chinese Android market, joining recent publishing deals with top international developers and AAA titles such as Gamevil’s Zenonia 5.
Additionally, CocoaChina/Chukong revealed this week that 70 percent of the top grossing mobile games in China were built on Cocos2D-x, the open source cross-platform game engine the company maintains for the developer community. Beyond CocoaChina/Chukong’s extremely popular Fishing Joy franchise, top titles including Hero Academy, Small Street and Contra: Evolution, and Western companies including Glu Mobile, Gamevil, Zynga and PlayFirst use Cocos2D-x to build games for Android and iOS simultaneously.
