LOS ANGELES – February 29, 2012 – Atari, one of the world’s most recognized publishers and developers of interactive entertainment, today released a major update to its freemium iOS hit, Asteroids: GunnerTM. The update unlocks all of the mobile game’s galaxies, previously available through in-app purchases, and adds new content, including challenging enemies to blast away and the Omega galaxy to explore.

Players can simply update their app to experience the new content, which includes:

  • Four free galaxies: access the original three and the new Omega galaxy for no charge
  • 3 new enemies
  • Ore refining, which allows players to gather more Crystals and unlock power-ups and ship upgrades more quickly
  • Daily challenges give players the opportunity to earn even more Crystals
  • Power-up and Omega slots now only 500 Crystals

Asteroids: Gunner+, a premium version of Asteroids: Gunner available for $4.99, provides full access to all eight ships and eliminates the need for Space Bucks.
