Mobile Enterprise Platform Receives Capital to Fuel Product Development of Productivity Apps and Acquisition of Engineering Talent
SAN FRANCISCO – April 24, 2012 – DoubleDutch, the leading provider of cloud-based geo-social applications for the mobile enterprise, today announced that it has secured $2 million in Series A-1 funding, led by Bullpen Capital and including Mike Maples’ FLOODGATE Fund, among others. The capital will allow DoubleDutch to grow the team and further enhance their mobile app product line, in use by Cisco, UBM, Lowe’s, HP, IDG, Macworld, Interop, Young Presidents Organization, More Direct, RightNow Technologies, and ad:Tech, among others.
DoubleDutch develops mobile productivity applications designed to engage employees, capture real-time data, and unlock valuable insight for enterprises. The company’s two primary offerings, Hive and Flock, engage end-users by transforming static information into interactive content, all within a native mobile app. Hive is a mobile CRM engagement app that streamlines the process of updating opportunities within a social, contextual framework. Flock is the company’s white-label event app that provides a collaborative platform for event attendees and sponsors to interact with content, share activities, and access event information.
“We’ve witnessed significant achievements with cloud-based enterprise software in the last decade, but there’s a greater shift taking place today in mobile productivity with the advent of smartphone devices, social networking, and wide-area mobile broadband,” said Lawrence Coburn, founder and CEO of DoubleDutch. “We’re no longer confined to a desk, while social tools are becoming a part of everyday life that allows us to succeed through real-time collaboration and interaction. This latest round of funding will help us further solidify our current leadership in the mobile enterprise space as we expand on existing applications and introduce new solutions to empower today’s workforce.”
“From our early experience in Zynga, we learned how game mechanics can be applied to business processes to improve performance,” said Duncan Davidson, Managing Director at Bullpen Capital. “We led the investment in DoubleDutch based on its innovative, leading-edge use of game mechanics to improve sales productivity.”
Accolades include:
