Amsterdam Offers Close Proximity to Development Hubs and Hundreds of Chartboost’s Current Partners; Dutch Game Veteran Ilja Goossens to Lead Operations

SAN FRANCISCO – April 23, 2013 – Chartboost, the leading technology platform for mobile games, today announced it has opened its first international office in Amsterdam. The new location enables the company to provide real-time support to the one third of Chartboost developers who are already based in Europe. These include companies like Danish developer Kiloo, UK-based King and Natural Motion, Outfit7 from Slovenia, Wooga from Germany, and Finland’s Supercell.

We have always admired European developers and find their creativity and leadership inspiring. We are excited to now be even closer to that thriving game ecosystem,” said Maria Alegre, co-founder and CEO, Chartboost. “Ilja shares Chartboost’s gaming DNA and we’re thrilled to have him onboard.”

Ilja Goossens, an industry veteran who founded Gamundo and Virtual Fairground, joined Chartboost this month to lead the new European team of 5 that includes several early Chartboost employees.

As a game developer myself, I have lived through the challenges of building and launching games,” said Ilja Goossens, Regional Director, Chartboost Europe. “What drew me to Chartboost was their passion for helping developers achieve success and I’m excited to help our partners continue to grow their businesses worldwide.”

In January, Chartboost raised a $19 million series B led by Sequoia Capital to accelerate its growth.  Since then the company has doubled the number of San Francisco employees to 60, graduated its first University Bootcamp class, and increased the number of games in its network from 12,000 to 16,000.  For more information about Chartboost’s new European office and plans this summer, please see read Maria’s message on the company’s blog: blog.chartboost.com.
