Finnish music and tech developer to debut mobile game at GDC; Announces school music creation competition with bestselling recording artist

HELSINKI – March 6, 2014 – SongHi Entertainment today announced plans to detail several of the company’s education and entertainment initiatives at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco this month. Additionally, SongHi will demonstrate the flexibility of its music creation technology through the medium of the company’s first mobile game.

Hailed as a catalyst for the fusion of music and education in their home country of Finland, SongHi uses its music engine to fuel a music competition backed by bestselling recording artist Robin, and their first mobile game, Melody Match.

Melody Match is a mix of addictive puzzle games and beautiful music powered by SongHi’s music technology. Players are tasked with matching monster types while the monsters’ voices and the game’s music change along with the stage and the player’s score.

Melody Match is currently slated for a Q2 2014 release on the App Store.

In addition, SongHi signed a deal with Finnish pop star, Robin, to run a music creation contest launching this spring in over 2,000 schools across Finland. Students will be able to show their music composition skills with SongHi’s music creation and sharing platform delivered in schools. Prizes range from band instruments to a private concert with Robin.

“Our goal is to facilitate an environment where creating and discovering music is done in a fluid and natural manner” said SongHi CEO, Jussi Aronen. “Our contest will serve as one of many fun entry points into music creation for children and teens in and outside of an academic setting. Melody Match shows off the capabilities of our music technology that makes our contest possible.”
