Creators of Terror, NetEase Games’ Identity V and The Junji Ito Collection Have Teamed Up!

“The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown.”

– H. P. Lovecraft

GUANGZHOU, China – Nov. 1, 2018 – Identity V previously released a spooky poster teasing that the asymmetrical horror game was about team up with a mystery partner. Well, today we can finally announce the answer; we are teaming up with none other than The Junji Ito Collection. One is an unrivaled master of horror comics, and the other is a developer of a hugely popular Gothic-style game. This partnership is bound to bring an all-new experience for players.

Armed with limitless imagination, the master of horror has got a surprise for you!The Junji Ito Collection is based on the works of the famous Japanese horror comic master, Junji Ito, and is mainly composed of the Junji Ito Collection and the Fragments of Horror. Junji Ito is known to his fans and the media as the creator of terror. He is the godfather of horror manga and the most important classical aesthetic cartoonist in modern Japanese history. His imagination is unmatched, and his art is exquisite; it really sticks in the mind. His work is extremely unique and is difficult to imitate. It was he who popularized the small genre of horror comics in Japan, and the world, winning countless fans along the way.

Two huge brands have joined forces to bring you grotesque horror!

Despite these two horror-based masterpieces belonging to different industries (mobile game and comic book), Identity V and The Junji Ito Collection fit together quite nicely in terms of their artistic styles. The asymmetrical gameplay and unsettling gothic art style of Identity V have made it unique in the Chinese mobile game market. As for The Junji Ito Collection, it too relies on its unique style of horror to differentiate itself in the saturated Japanese ACG industry.

The Junji Ito Collection is animated by Studio Deen and debuted on May 1, 2018. It’s about Tomie, whose cells are endlessly multiplying, and Souichi, who likes to put nails in his mouth and is interested in mysterious things. The animation includes other classic horror characters that leave a lasting impression on the audience, like Fuchi, a fashion model different from ordinary people in height and horrible looks, has a strange ability; and lastly Yui, who knows the concentration of oil in the air.

Will classic characters designed by Junji Ito make it to Oletus Manor in Identity V? We will just have to wait and see!
