GungHo Online Entertainment America releases a demo and trailer for the highly anticipated RPG remake
REDONDO BEACH, Calif. – August 20, 2026 – GungHo Online Entertainment America (GOEA) announced that a demo of Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter is now live on PlayStation®5, Nintendo Switch™, and Steam®. The Nintendo Switch™ demo is playable on Nintendo Switch™ 2 via backward compatibility. Players can get a taste of the next modern reimagining in Nihon Falcom’s beloved Trails series before it launches on September 17, 2026, for PlayStation®5, Nintendo Switch™ 2, Nintendo Switch™, and Steam®.
All progress made in the demo will carry over to the full game at launch.

Standard Edition preorders are available at North American retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart, and more for $59.99 USD for Nintendo Switch™ and PlayStation® 5, or $64.99 for the Nintendo Switch™ 2 Edition. Players who purchase the Nintendo Switch™ version of the game will also be able to upgrade to the Nintendo Switch™ 2 Edition by purchasing a $4.99 Upgrade Pack.
The Season Pass is available for purchase separately on Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation® 5, and Steam®, granting access to a variety of cosmetic DLC for $24.99. A Digital Deluxe edition including the base game and Season Pass is also available for $79.99 on Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation®5, and Steam®.
