Edtech leader introduces new reporting tools that are intuitive and fun to use

SAN MATEO, Calif. – May 23, 2016 – Today, IXL Learning announced new features for IXL Analytics. Designed for teachers, IXL Analytics makes using data in the classroom a breeze. With nine reports, teachers can pinpoint exact item types students are struggling with, track class progress toward meeting state standards, identify areas for improvement, and more. Intuitive and visual, IXL Analytics is not only helpful for teachers, but is a delight to use.

“When developing IXL Analytics, we completely rethought what classroom data can and should look like,” said Paul Mishkin, CEO of IXL Learning. “Could we make it easy, and even fun to interact with? The answer is yes: we’ve created a tool that teachers will enjoy coming back to again and again, to find new ways to help their students excel.”

IXL Analytics can be used with a variety of class settings and teaching strategies. For example, the Real-Time Center, great for any computer lab, allows teachers to remotely monitor students as they work. Live activity tiles update as students practice new skills and reach milestones, and they alert teachers to students who may need help. With the Skill Diagnostics report, teachers can identify groupings of students who may need help with similar question types, making small-group instruction even more effective.

“There are so many wonderful features on IXL Analytics for data-driven instruction utilized by our teachers,” said Kim Colossale, Math Department Chair at Druid Middle School in Decatur, Georgia. “They have taken the insights from the Trouble Spots report and used them for re-teaching. They are able to see the skills students are mastering using the Questions Log or Student Details reports. The teachers use the data from IXL Analytics as formative assessments, and it provides valuable insights that our teachers can really apply to their classrooms.”

The newest version of IXL Analytics includes printing and exporting functionality, allowing teachers to easily save, keep, and share reports on student performance. Other enhancements, including the ability to view reports by custom date ranges and to search by student and skill, help teachers quickly uncover the data they need.Untitled

IXL, a K-12 adaptive learning program, is used by 200,000 teachers and 1 in 10 students in the U.S.  IXL is carefully designed to guide and teach students at just the right pace. Each of IXL’s 5,000 skills adapts to the individual student, offering scaffolded questions that become progressively harder or easier based on how well the learner is understanding the material. Questions on IXL are algorithmically generated rather than pulled from a static question bank, ensuring that students never see the same question twice and always have something new to practice. IXL covers math, language arts, science, and social studies, and skills are aligned to the Common Core and all state standards.
